As from Monday 10th August, if you haven’t being doing so, masks will have to be worn when visiting the Church either for Mass or private prayer.

Saturdays at 7pm from the Church of the Immaculate Conception

This Mass will continue to be celebrated without a congregation. Families marking Month Mind and First Anniversaries (the next First Anniversaries are in November) are encouraged to use this Mass when limited numbers of family can attend.

St Matthew’s Church – adoration Friday 4pm to 8pm

Mass on Tuesday and Thursday evening should suit those working in the morning and facilitate families wanting to attend anniversary Masses.

Attending any of these weekday Masses fulfils the Sunday obligation which has been suspended for the foreseeable future.

Masks should be worn when attending Mass.

Those receiving Holy Communion can only do so on the hand – as was the norm last March.

In coming to receive please respect social distancing in the procession to the sanctuary.

Those attending are asked to bring a wipe with them to clean down the place where they were praying.

Like our homes, it is important to keep our Churches clean and hygienic.

After Mass, when outside the Church, please once again respect social distancing.

The obligation to attend Sunday Mass continues to be suspended. Parishioners can attend the weekday Mass instead. If you want to bring your Parish envelope to these Masses a basket will be provided; otherwise can be left at Parochial House.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament:

This is being resumed and Parishioners are encouraged to spend some time in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament – cme as individuals or families.

First Confession for those boys and girls celebrating First Communion will take place on Tuesday 11th August at 7pm in the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Who can attend: the child along with the parents. If for some reason this date does not suit a family, please contact Fr Michael to arrange another date for your child. Mass will be celebrated at 8pm this evening.

Anniversaries: at the Saturday evening celebration of Mass I will pray for those whose anniversaries had been arranged that weekend and the week previous and the week following.

The course takes two years with one night per week and two weekends over the academic year and is accredited by St Patrick’s College, Maynooth. There are no educational entry requirements, and completion of the course is based on submitted work and does not include sitting exams. Our Theology course will be continuing this year with predominantly online classes, starting on 8th September. Mary’s Meals – Step by step walk from Coalisland to Knock – began on Friday 31st July and will arrive at Knock Shrine on 15th August, Solemnity of the Assumption.

Lough Derg A new pilgrimage on Lough Derg’s lakeshore. Walk and Pray in the Lough Derg tradition on 16, 18, 22, 26 & 30 August. At times in the 1600s and 1700s when Station Island was closed by the Penal Laws, pilgrims undertook a form of pilgrimage on the lough shore. Walk in their footsteps.
