The following protective measures are recommended to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the vulnerable or anxious members of the congregation: The wearing of face coverings inside Church buildings; Suspension of a handshake at the Sign of Peace; Holy Communion to be received in the hand; social distancing within and outside Churches – such measures have been the norm since March 2020.

While we are encouraged by the lifting of the restrictions imposed during the pandemic, we will continue to take care to provide appropriate protection and reassurance to all involved in Church activities. What we do in Church is a reminder that covid still exits among us. Let us continue to look after each other.

Attending any of the weekday Masses fulfils the Sunday obligation which has been suspended for the foreseeable future so please plan which Mass suits you or your family.

Lent – which began last Wednesday might be a good time to get back to attending Mass in person – Saturday evening, Sunday morning or during the week.

Lent is a time for doing something – not always giving up something!

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: St Mary’s Church Wednesdays 10.30-11am; Church of the Immaculate Conception Thursdays 10.30am to 6pm; St Matthew’s Church Fridays 10.30am to 2pm.

The prayer of adoration is the prayer that makes us recognise God as the beginning and the end of all of history. And this prayer is the living flame of the Spirit that gives strength to witness and mission. Pope Francis. Rosary recited 20minutes before each Parish Mass starts.

Lately deceased: Fabian McDermott, Eugene McGarvey

HELP FOR UKRAINE! As you read this the lorries full of humanitarian aid will be on their way to Poland. I (MoD) will join them in Berlin and travel the final leg of the journey. We pray a safe journey for the drivers and crew across Europe and home again. And we pray for those receiving the aid – that it will give the people of Ukraine hope and comfort – and ease the burden of those countries who are first responders to the refugees. Financial contributes are still needed to fund the travel of the lorries and the drivers – donations can be given directly to Fr. Mod or given through the Gofundme site at ‘Convoy of aid to Ukraine’. As Jesus said: whatever you do for the least of my sisters and brothers you to do for me.
