Advice from Archdiocese of Armagh during current covid pandemic.

The wearing of face coverings inside Church buildings; Suspension of a handshake at the Sign of Peace; Holy Communion to be received in the hand; social distancing within and outside Churches – such measures have been the norm since March 2020.

What we do in Church is a reminder that covid still exits among us. Let us continue to look after each other.

St. Charles de Foucauld (15 September 1858 – 1 December 1916) was a French soldier, explorer, geographer, ethnographer, Catholic priest and hermit who lived among the Tuareg people in the Sahara in Algeria. He was assassinated in 1916. His inspiration and writings led to the founding of the Little Brothers of Jesus . He was canonised on 15th May last and his feast day is 1st December. This is his Abandonment Prayer: Father, I abandon myself into your hands, do with me what you will. Whatever you may do, I thank you: I am ready for all, I accept all. Let only your will be done in me and in all your creatures. I wish no more than this, O Lord. Into your hands, I commend my soul; I offer it to you with all the love of my heart; For I love you, Lord, and so need to give myself: To surrender myself into your hands without reserve and with boundless confidence. For you are my Father.’

On Corpus Christi, Thursday 10th June 1982 in St James’ Church, Cooley I was ordained priest. Thank you for all your prayerful good wishes and gifts to mark this jubilee. On such days – which we all experience at some time in our lives – we do not know what the future holds or where the road will take us. I have been blessed with supportive family and friends and priestly colleagues and Parishioners over the years to make my journey most enjoyable and memorable – to use the Mysteries of the Rosary – there have been joyful, sorrowful, glorious moments and many moments of light/revelation where God’s presence has shone through to guide me and guide those with whom I travelled. For all that and more I am truly thankful. I have called home in six Parishes – Dungannon, Drogheda, Lower Killeavy, Forkhill, Drumcree, Errigal Ciaran. Thank you for making that possible here. Let us continue to pray for each other!
