Armagh Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes – Church door collection to assist sick pilgrims on weekends 20th/21st and 27th April. Please be as generous as you can.

Coffee morning in aid of Care for Cancer in Altamuskin Community Centre Sunday 28th April 11am to 1.30pm. all welcome.

Alive Catholic newspaper – the recent Church door collection raised £410 – the local promoters and the newspaper thank all who contributed to keeping Alive alive!

All Ireland Rosary Rally – Knock – Saturday 1st June – talks from 9.30am with keynote speaker at 1pm. Stations of the Cross at 2 pm, followed by the Rosary Procession. Mass at 3pm which will include Anointing of the Sick.

Legion of Mary meet at 8pm on Thursdays in Upper Room, Church of the Immaculate Conception. They would welcome new members to assist with spread of this holy devotion.

Mary’s Meals – provides school meals to over 2.4 million children every day. Pope Francis on 10th April last announced changes to the Dioceses in the Province of Tuam in the West of Ireland – Tuam and Killala Dioceses will be administered by Archbishop Francis Duffy and Elphin and Achonry Dioceses will be administered by Bishop Kevin Doran. Galway and Clonfert Dioceses are already administered by one bishop, Michael Duignan. This means that there are now at present 23diocesan bishops in Ireland (though Dromore and Raphoe are vacant at present). (good information for table quizzers!)

Errigal Ciaran GFC have organised a weekly walking event – Mondays at Ballygawley Playing Fields and Wednesdays at Cardinal MacRory Park Dunmoyle both from 7pm to 8pm from now til end of May. For all ages! Fresh air and a chat – all for free!

St Philip Neri once had a penitent confess to indulging in gossip. He advised the contrite soul to bring him a chicken, and to pluck its feathers as he walked the streets of Rome. When the man showed up with the chicken, his penance fulfilled, the great saint told him, ‘ Now, brother, gather up all the feathers you’ve strewn about the city.’ The man’s face fell. ‘Its impossible,’ he protested, ‘they’re everywhere…’ ‘Yes,’ Philip nodded, ‘as is gossip, once it is strewn about…’
