St Malachy’s Cemetery, Ballymacilroy – thank you to all those who worked to get the graveyard looking so well and repairing the path damaged by the recent storm. The skip has been moved to the lower carpark – anyone attending Mass recently would have noticed this – so it was disappointing to learn that rubbish and refuge was left at the entrance to the graveyard – thank you to those who cleared it away. In the new space created some years ago trees have planted to form a Rosary walk and a Grotto of the Apparition of Knock will be erected where the skip used to sit.

Relics of St Margaret Mary Alacoque and St Claude la Colombière have come to the Church of the Sacred Heart, Parish of Cloghogue, Newry and will remain there until Thursday, 5 June. All are welcome. St Margaret Mary, a Visitation nun in 17th-century France, was chosen by the Lord for a special mission: to make His Sacred Heart known and loved throughout the world. Margaret Mary was not alone in this mission. God, in His providence, sent her a companion and spiritual guide – St Claude la Colombière, a Jesuit priest and her confessor. Together, they remind us that God’s work is often entrusted not to the strong or the prominent, but to the humble, the obedient, the docile souls willing to suffer for love.

“Dare to Hope” young adult event (age 18-35), Youth Village Knock 14 June. This gathering promises to nourish and inspire the faith of young Catholics throughout Ireland. Fr. Conor McDonough OP will be the principal speaker, along with a variety of enriching workshops. It will culminate in the celebration of Mass where all participants will come together in faith and fellowship. All welcome.
